What is the PAC?

The Pennsylvania Perinatal Action Collaborative (PAC) is a multi-disciplinary group dedicated to unifying and advancing maternal health initiatives throughout the state. The PAC is tasked with executing the Maternal Health Strategic Plan (MHSP), which seeks to improve the health outcomes of pregnant and postpartum women in Pennsylvania.

 Vision:

A Pennsylvania where every pregnant woman has easy access to high-quality perinatal, birth, and postpartum care that is person-centered, comprehensive, equitable, and affordable and that results in healthy outcomes and the potential for long-term good health and wellbeing.

The PAC will develop strategies and identify implementation partners for the following priority areas:

  • Access to high-quality care
  • Supporting behavioral health and substance use disorder needs
  • Addressing community factors that influence health outcomes
  • Improving rural health and maternity care deserts
  • Expanding and diversifying the maternal health workforce
